How do I split a transaction across categories?
Divide a purchase when one transaction includes different types of spending.
Guide based on the current Rank beta
Splitting preserves the original total and lets you assign a different category to each part.
How to do it
- 1Open the transaction and select Split.
- 2Enter the amount for each part and choose its category.
- 3Use Add if you need more parts.
- 4Make sure you distribute the entire total.
- 5Select Save.
Keep in mind
- Rank calculates the remaining amount as you edit each part.
- You cannot save until the parts add up to the original total.
